AVISO/WARNING [Esp]

[Eng] One of the most alarming and rising problems in Nepal, is related to fake orphanages and child trafficking. There are more than 800 registered orphanages in Nepal, in which the 85% of the children are not real orphans. Families in remote areas are being cheated by promising a better future for their children, turning them into victims of the child trafficking business and becoming a property of the orphanage owners. This is a growing and powerful business supported by innocent altruist foreigners that travel to Nepal to help unfortunate people as a volunteers, and moreover they pay a fee for being working in the orphanages. Let us be conscious of this phenomenon if we really want to help Nepal, and try to make an effort verifying whether or not the organizations we work for are involved in child trafficking.
